DPAC and DLC Condemn House Passage of “One Big Beautiful Bill Act”
July 3, 2025
The Diabetes Patient Advocacy Coalition (DPAC) and the Diabetes Leadership Council (DLC)condemn the House of Representatives’ final passage of the One Big Beautiful Bill Act, which nowmoves to President Trump’s desk despite overwhelming concern from the public, including patientadvocates across the country. With this vote, Congress has chosen to prioritize politics, maintaining anarbitrary deadline over taking the time to reach productive compromise.
This legislation will add trillions to the federal debt while kicking 17 million Americans off of theirhealth insurance and threatening hospital closures across the country, as has been acknowledged bymany who ultimately chose to vote for the bill. This isn’t fiscal responsibility—it’s a failure of moralleadership.
